- On arrival at Tivat or Podgorica airport, you’ll be met by your driver who will transfer you to Ashuma retreat centre. Transfers can also be arranged from Dubrovnik for a small supplement.
- Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have free time to settle into your tent and unpack before dinner.

- After the morning class, tuck into a delicious brunch and get to know your fellow guests.
- You’ll have the option to join a gentle 90 minute hike in the surrounding area. If you would like to, you’ll gather sage, mint, thyme or other leaves and flowers, depending on the season. Back at the centre, what you’ve gathered will be used in a special distillation process to produce hydrosol (a floral water infused with essential oil properties). It’s perfect as a refreshing aromatic spray, and you’ll be able to take some home with you as a keepsake from your trip.
- The rest of the afternoon will leave you with time to relax, enjoy the surroundings and mountain views, use the sauna, or chill by the campfire with new friends.

- Those joining the trip to Kotor will have dinner at a traditional restaurant, indulging in fresh local fish and meat washed down with Montenegrin wine (all dietary requirements can be catered for if you don’t want meat/fish or wine).

Max
I’m Max, from Montenegro, and have been teaching yoga for over 20 years at a variety of luxury hotels and studios in the Bay of Kotor area, as well as internationally. I also teach online students all around the world, including private and group sessions, as well as special courses and masterclasses.
I pride myself in teaching authentic traditional yoga, based on slow and soft Hatha with some elements of Kriya and Raja yoga. It’s perfect for any level, including absolute beginners, and balances gentle movement and breath work with the theory behind the practice, tailored to suit the experience of the group.

What do I need to pack?
You will be sent a suggested packing list nearer to the trip date. While we hope for lovely warm weather, as the retreat centre is in the mountains, it will get a little chilly in the evening, so it is advised that you bring a warm layer – bespoke trip hoodies and sweatshirts will be available for purchase. Other recommendations include suncream, a lightweight raincoat, sports/gym clothing for yoga classes and hikes, trainers or sturdy walking shoes if you want to join the hikes, as terrain may be uneven and steep in places, and swimwear for the sauna and lake/coastal swims.
What will the yoga classes be like?
Classes will include gentle hatha yoga, based on traditional movement, breath practice and theory. They will be suitable for all abilities, from beginners to those with years of experience. Please see Max’s website for more information: https://monteyoga.com/. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact natalie@evolution-adventures.com to discuss.
What will the accommodation be like?

Two meals per day will be provided, which will be vegetarian brunch and a dinner. There will be options to buy lunch and snacks, as well as meat/fish in the nearby villages and on excursions.
Can you cater for any dietary requirements?
Yes, we can accommodate most dietary requirements, including vegetarians, vegans, dairy free and gluten free. Yes, there will be plenty of time to explore the area independently, as well as a variety of optional activities to choose from.
